This was thrown away.
A wrapper. A bottle cap. A crate. Something somebody held for four minutes.
India throws away 25,940
tonnes of plastic. Every day.
Roughly 43% of it is never recycled at all - it is buried, burned in the open, or it reaches a river. We collect ours across 6 states.
We shred it.
Then we press it.
Sorted by polymer and colour, washed, and taken down to flake. Heat and pressure only - no virgin filler, no binding resin.

Waste · Wonder · Revolution
Chakra means the wheel. The circle. The thing that comes back around.
That is not our metaphor - that is our manufacturing process.

Four things we make from
the same shredded flake.

One material stream, four ways to specify it. Every piece states what it used to be, and every piece comes back to us at end of life.

had to defend the choice.

Architects, interior practices, developers and brand teams across India. Names below are placeholders - swap in the real client list and logo files.

Waste in. Material out.

Five steps, no virgin filler, no binding resin. Every batch is weighed and logged against a number stamped into the finished piece.

06

A small factory that
refuses to round up.

CHAKRA started in 2019 in Coimbatore with a shredder, a hydraulic press and one uncomfortable question: if recycled material is so good, why does nobody publish what is actually in it?

So we publish it. Every sheet carries a batch number. Every batch has a weight, a polymer breakdown and a collection origin behind it. When a number is estimated we say estimated. When a product cannot do something - structural loads, direct sun, food contact - we print that on the same page as the sales copy, because losing a specification is cheaper than being the reason a detail fails on site.

We are 14 people. 22 of them came from the informal waste sector and are now on payroll with PF, ESI and full safety gear. That is the part of circularity nobody puts on a moodboard.

Hand us your waste.
Take back your lobby.

A closed loop your CSR and ESG reporting can actually cite: we collect your company's plastic, weigh it, and return it as furniture, signage or gifting - with a batch-level report attached.

Corporate take-back programme

We audit your waste stream, install collection bins, lift on a fixed cycle and issue a signed diversion statement each quarter. You get the material back as something your staff sits on.

Impact report

A branded PDF for your annual report: kilos diverted, batch numbers, method notes and the limits of every claim.

Chakra Bin · on-site collection

Install a bin.
Sit on it a year later.

Put a bench in the breakout area and a Chakra Bin beside it. People drop their bottles, cups and wrappers in on the way past - no programme to launch, no behaviour to change. We weigh every lift, and the contents come back as the next piece of furniture in that same room.

For architects & PMCs

Spec sheets, CAD/Revit blocks, fire and UV test references, and a swatch box couriered to your studio.

Tell us the project, the deadline and the certification you are chasing. We will tell you honestly whether our material fits - including when it does not.

The comparison other
suppliers avoid.

Same specification questions an Indian architect has to answer to a client, put side by side. Every figure tagged in blue still needs verifying against a test report before this page goes live.

What our material cannot do

Non-structural. Non-load-bearing. Not food-contact safe in post-consumer grades. Suitable for interiors and covered outdoor use. For direct-sun exposure ask for the UV-stabilised grade and expect visible colour movement over 14 years. Spans over 600 mm need a substrate. We would rather lose a specification than be the reason a detail fails on site.

The maths, plainly

One standard product = 4 kg of plastic waste. Four of them carry roughly one tree's year of carbon work. That is an equivalence for scale - not a tree planted, and not a tree saved.

216KGplastic waste diverted from landfill
5,160individual plastic items kept out of the ground
287KG CO₂eavoided versus making the same thing from virgin plastic
14trees' full year of carbon work - the equivalent, not a tree saved
How we calculate this
10

One event's waste.
One run of objects.

We take the plastic from a single event - weighed on the day, at that venue - and make exactly as many pieces as it yields. When the material runs out, the drop is closed. It is never made again, because the waste that made it does not exist twice.

Want your event turned into a drop?

Festivals, marathons, conferences, weddings, campus fests. We bring bins and a weighing station, run the collection on the day, and hand back a numbered edition your sponsors can actually keep.
